Partial Obedience=Future Problems

When we think of heroes, our minds often drift to caped crusaders or masked vigilantes. But real heroes are often much closer to home than we realize. They’re the parents working multiple jobs to provide for their families, the teachers staying late to help struggling students, or the neighbors quietly caring for elderly relatives. In Judges 4, we discover that God has a unique way of choosing heroes. He doesn’t look for the strongest, the most qualified, or the most obvious candidates. Instead, He chooses ordinary people to do extraordinary things. Deborah was a wife and mother who became a judge and prophetess. Jael was a tent-dwelling woman who became the unlikely deliverer of Israel. God’s definition of heroism is vastly different from the world’s. While society celebrates fame, fortune, and power, God celebrates faithfulness, obedience, and love. The single mom sacrificing her dreams for her children’s future is a hero. The man choosing integrity over profit is a hero. The woman serving in the church nursery week after week is a hero. Perhaps you’ve been waiting for some grand moment to make a difference, thinking you need special qualifications or extraordinary circumstances. But God is looking for ordinary people who are willing to be used by Him in their everyday lives.
